Does SHR hair removal hurt?
In short, no. One of the benefits of SHR is there is very little discomfort with the treatment.
Traditional IPL uses multiple pulses at the same time to heat the hair follicles – which can cause burning.
SHR emits a single pulse of energy which delivers a gentle heat. The machine also operates at a much higher speed, so we’re able to move quickly and smoothly across the treatment area. The result is shorter treatment times and minimal risk of pain or skin damage.
The SHR handpiece also has a cool tip, to further reduce any discomfort.
How many treatments will I need?
While this will vary, 3-5 sessions of SHR will result in permanent hair reduction.
Because SHR targets hair in the growth phase, we recommend scheduling treatments no more than 2-3 weeks apart. This can help reduce the number of sessions needed overall and provide the best results in terms of permanent hair reduction.
